Bathtime!

Carter had to wait for his lil umbilical nubbin to fall off before getting a real bath, and it finally disappeared! Woohoo! Time to break out the tub!

Not so sure what to make of all this wet stuff....

All dry!

Eye Color

I posted a poll asking what everyone thought Carter's eye color would be. I didn't realize that your permanent eye color may not be apparent until almost 3 years of age. So since we won't have the real results of the poll for possibly years, I decided to delete the poll.

For the record, I have brown eyes, and Katie has hazel.

Mom and Baby

Katie is healing well and Carter continues to make us laugh (and deny us sleep.) I just wanted to share this picture of my beautiful wife with our son:

The Battle Rages On

Who will reign victorious as Carter's Favorite Aunt? Stay tuned!

Requests Fulfilled

Sorry about the delay in getting this post up. All of these photos were taken this past weekend at family member's houses last weekend. Katie's parents had us over for dinner on Sunday and we went to my sister's family's home for dinner Monday night. Photo ops galore!

4 generations in one photo!

We Take Requests

My little brother Garin had asked for a pic of our mom with baby Carter, so I threw one into the last post. Work wanted a look at the bouquet they had had delivered to us at the hospital. Here's one for Lauren with the awesome quilt she made for the baby:

We'll also try to get some with Grandma and Grandpa Bradley this weekend. Any other requests? :)

More Carter Pics

I can't stand it. Our son is far cuter than I thought he could be. I have to share these adorable pics:

The best shot of the kid so far. I need to post pics to our blog faster before Lauren snipes them for her own blog :P

He's got quite a grip!

Katie and Carter finally got to come home Wednesday evening, hours after the projected noon dispatch from the hospital. Needless to say, after being at the hospital nearly 4 days Katie was more than ready for her own bed.

Home at last!

Getting some lovin' from Grandma Wood!

Thanks to all the family and friends who visited us (in person and via phone) at the hospital. Your love and support helps Carter feel right at home in the world.

Carter Harrison Wood

Our son was born this morning at 12:20 am Monday February 11th. He is a healthy 8 lbs 8 oz (congrats to the few of you who got this right on the poll!) and 19 inches long. He has light brown hair and a cute little smile.

Mom is doing well after along hospital ordeal. We went to the hospital Saturday night at 10:30 and Katie was admitted to a room around 2 am Sunday. After some time the contractions began going away, but the doctors decided it was time to move forward so they began pumping her full of induction meds. Around 9 am the contractions started picking up again, and about 11 am she started to dilate some more. About 5 pm the doctor came and broke her water, and then things started to really pick up. Previously Katie had decided she did not want an epidural, but the pain soon convinced her to go for the nerve blocker. The epidural was prepared flawlessly, and Katie soon basked in the painless labor. Despite Katie's valiant efforts, Carter managed to avoid being born on Sunday.

Katie and baby Carter should be coming home Wednesday about noon.

Almost to the End!

I had a doctor's appointment this morning and things are finally progressing a little. I had been at 1cm for about a month and today she told me I'm at 2-3cm. She scheduled me for an induction Tuesday morning, so that will be the big day if Carter doesn't decide to join us sooner!
